Since your description was so helpful, I'll list three good rap albums.
1. Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor--put Lupe on the map, has some great songs, always good listening.
2. Mos Def's Black on Both Sides--first time I heard Hip Hop, I was taken in by this one. other favs are brooklyn and ms. fat booty.
3. Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientelle--one of the first albums that I got that was not "mainstream", radio rap. still a favorite.
All 3 of 50 songs total.
