I made this playlist to showcase music that was/is created mainly in America. Each selection is very much a good example of America's taste in music from the beginning of the century up until now.

I started with the Star Spangled Banner because nothing says America than our national anthem I have a good selection of Jazz- "America's Classical Music", and I also chose artists like Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan to represent the 60's. I also included Funk music and some selections by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bruce and Steppenwolf to represent the essence of America. Lastly, some current hits from The Hold Steady and The Shins.
